At the age of 11, Mina Ebrahimi worked at her parents’ bakery which unknowingly molded her into who she is today. At her tender age, Mina learned a lot about customer service and went ahead to manage the family café business that was located in Tyson’s Galleria. Later on, she started Saint Germania Catering in the year 1999 when she was only 26 years. Her experience in the catering industry gave her a hands-on approach as she worked directly with her clients.
In the year 1998, Mina Ebrahimi translated her love for cooking, making people happy, and creating memorable events into a trade. She started her Germania business by providing her clients with corporate catering. At that time, she had a bigger vision and she transformed her startup into a catering company that served business luncheons, weddings, private parties and special events. Due to her hands-on approach, passion for her work and her meticulous nature, her business has grown to what it is today.
Her business is over 20 years old and it’s still growing. Mina says that the success of her business is due to her continued effort to personally oversee kitchen management and other daily business operations. She has also made efforts to keep up with the current catering trends and she attends and participates in professional seminars on décor and design, cuisine, and techniques.
Mina also loves animals and sharing with others in her own unique ways. She began the Jack-Ebrahimi Program at the University of Pennsylvania which is the only existing interventional radiology veterinarian program countrywide. Mina’s philanthropy side gives her the drive to work even harder to give back to areas that are close to her heart. Her sponsorship to the Penn Vet Working Dog Center has helped to develop a dog named McBaine that is used today to identify ovarian cancer.
Profits from her business have also helped make progress in cancer research at UPenn where animals are treated for the disease. Mina’s desire to assist Operation Homefront for disabled war heroes coming home is another area that is special to her. She also loves helping women of all ages so that they can successfully open and run their own businesses one day.
