OSI Food Solutions Receives a Globe of Honor Award
OSI Food solutions UK received the 2016 prestigious Globe of Honor Award from the British safety council as a result of their exemplary work in the management of environmental risks. The group received the award at a luncheon that was held at Drapers’ Hall in London on the 25th of November 2016. OSI Food Solutions was among the eighteen companies all over the world that received the globe of Honor in 2016. The award is usually presented to those organizations that show excellence in environmental management tasks. For a firm to take part, they need first to be affirmed as five stars by the environmental management audit scheme of the British Safety Council for one year. They also need to show that they are excellent in environmental management in all areas of their business.
Lynda Armstrong OBE who is the chair of the British Safety Council congratulated OSI food Solutions the UK on winning the Globe of Honor 2016. She noted that many organizations are increasingly adopting an approach where they place environmental protection concerns on the same level with health and safety of their business which has helped their operations to be more sustainable. The CEO of the British Safety Council Mike Robinson presented the award to Kelly Grimwood, the OSI environmental manager in Europe. He said giving the award that despite legislating for compliance, the winners need to inspire people towards excellence and that the winners have inspirational stories that tell their journey towards achieving such accolades.
The OSI Food solutions have been in operation in the UK since the year 1989 and are located in Scunthorpe. Over the years, it has been producing pork and beef products for the restaurant industry. The firm has also been the winner of the Globe of Honor in the years 2013 and 2015. Its mother company OSI group that is based in the US is reputable for providing meat and food processing solutions to their clients all over the world. The firm also recently purchased a food processing facility that was formerly operated by Tyson Foods. The facility which is close to its existing Chicago facility will support its continued business growth.
