Jay-Z Spares No Expense For Bestfriend, Juan “OG” Perez’s Birthday
We all want a friend like Jay-Z in our life. Jay-Z threw down $113,000 for his best friend and business partner, Juan “OG” Perez’s birthday. The two have been close since they met at Roc-A-Fella Records in 1996. The bill, broken down into three sections, was for a $13,000 dinner, $9,000 in drinks (which was made of up multiple orders of D’USSÉ, which is owned by Jay-Z and Perez) and a stunning $91,000 club tab. Clearly, Jay-Z wanted to ensure that “OG” Perez had a 50th birthday to remember.
“OG” Perez and his wife, Desiree Perez have been the longtime behind the scenes managers of Jay-Z’s business dealings. Originally from Harlem, “OG” Perez, in addition to managing his friend’s business endeavors, is the President of Roc Nation Sports. Roc Nation Sports is a subsidiary of the Roc Nation Sports that was founded by Jay-Z and “OG” Perez after the pair had been approached by a multitude of athletes looking for advice. The brand gain notoriety after New York Yankees second baseman, Robinson Cano was snatched up by the company from his longtime agent, Scott Boras in 2013.
Perez and Roc Nation Sports strive to flourish where larger agencies fail. Under Perez’s stewardship, the company has built a reputation as a family that focuses heavily on the individual needs and considerations of each athlete they sign. It is this idea of family that has driven Juan “OG” Perez and Jay-Z to success in each business venture they have launched. With this mentality, it comes as no surprise that Jay-Z would go all out for his best friend’s 50th birthday party. After all when you are family, what is $113,000?
